Holding the rank of Commander in 1890 PD, he was assigned to BuShips and put in charge of the Skyhawk Evaluation Program. During the evaluation, the Attica Avalanche hit the Athinai Resort on the surface of the planet Gryphon. Agursky took control of the rescue operation, much to Honor Harrington's dislike, and kept causing difficulties until Captain Tammerlane directly ordered him to return aboard HMS Broadsword.
