To the colony world of Ord Mirit. Malcor looked through the open hangar into space, from his spot on a catwalk going over the hangar. He could see a part of Coruscant, and one of it's moons, in the distance, from where he was standing. Malcor was deep in thought, still wondering why a Sith Lord would choose him to lead a task force to Ord Mirit rather than a general. He never thought of himself as a tactical genius. He then heard footsteps approaching. Looking up, Malcor saw it was his naval comrade, Zarin Namada. "Hey," he said as Zarin approached. "What did you do in the Palace?" Zarin asked him. "Talked to a Sith, got appointed to lead the ground forces on this mission," he answered. Zarin slowly nodded. "I will soon be promoted to captain, and this will be my command vessel, since Captain Vyrkar is retiring. Currently, I am a TIE operations officer." "Indeed," replied Malcor. "Anyways, you must know more than me of this mission. What kind of situation are we looking at?" Zarin asked. "Well, the Sith said a Jedi and some Alliance Army troops are holding out there, but I have not yet been briefed on the specifics." "I don't understand why they would pick you over a Sith or an Army general." Malcor shook his head. "No idea." "We'll see," a new voice said from behind them. A man in an Imperial Intelligence uniform walked up to them. "I read the reports, apparently you are a good tactician. At least in their opinion." the agent said. Malcor looked at him. "And who might you be?" "Colonel Evax Zynthar of Imperial Intelligence." Zarin turned to Evax. "So, I assume you know what the mission specifics are?" "Indeed. Good thing an officer of Commander Ashen's caliber was appointed. If an idiot, like some generals and Moffs, was appointed . . . " "I was promoted." Malcor explained to Zarin, in response to his inquisitive look. "Anyways, I was told to get you to your briefing." Evax said.
