One-and-a-half notrump is a treatment for showing balanced hands between a 1NT opening and a 2NT opening. It is done by opening one of a suit, then jump rebid in NT. In the original natural system (Culbertson system and Goren system), it showed 19-21 HCPs, but now the norm is 18-19 HCPs.
