He was defeated by his own "statues" after Courage (using Bayou magic) ordered them to attack him, scaring Big Bayou out of his wits. Far too self absorbed to attack images of himself he was forced to beg for mercy, but his pleas were ignored by the statues. He is later seen suffering and getting tortured and locked with chains around him. The statues probably did this to him.
