David Harvie was a full back who was an almost permanent fixture in the Rovers first team before and after the First World War. He was signed from Scottish side Stevenston Thistle in 1910 on the recommendation of former Rovers player James Young, and was an ever-present at right-back during his first season in Bristol. 'Hit Him' Harvie, as he was known, made 219 appearances in the Southern League, scoring once, before retiring from football in 1920.
