The Order first descended from the Order of the Jedi Bendu, a group that split into the Jedi Order, the Bendu Order, and various other splinter factions circa 15,000 BBY. After the schism, the Bendu Order disappeared into the Unknown Regions. The Bendu were first led by High Priest Zios Malachor, and later by High Priest Ussej Padric Bac LXIV. Sometime during its existence, the members of the Bendu Order developed a Force technique that allowed powerful wielders of the Force to teleport other individuals from one location to another, even across long distances. Ussej Padric Bac, the shaman of the Order of the Whills, used this technique in 22 BBY during the Attack on the Ophuchi sanctuary.
