Feline shapeshifter Tikki has found solace in the wild, away from the cities she does not understand. But her secrets are too valuable for the two-leggers to leave her alone. The kidnapping of her cub draws Tikki back to the land of steel... where nothingwill stop her from finding her missing child. Striper is back, and she is pissed. Oh, my, is she pissed. Someone has stolen her kid. Well, her cub, really, since she's a weretiger. And you don't want a weretigress mad at you. No sir. That isn't the only story going on. There's really at least two interconnected stories going on here, centered at the research lab that's studying the werecreatures. Bandit is back, as well, and Minx and Monk have a kind of side story that really doesn't go anywhere. It's their story, really, that really bugs me about this book. But since they barely even interact with the main storyline (again), it can pretty much be ignored. Striper's segments are once again in firt-person present, giving them an animalistic immediacy that suits her well. All in all, the book is well written and plotted, and a good addition to the series.
