- Master Thief is a Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and Lionheart perk.
- The master thief is the strongest of the three "thief" NPCs (compare thief and robber). They will usually (70%) attempt to move to melee range before attacking. Their attacks consist of dual wield melee attacks, using their thrown weapon if not adjacent (75%), and the suspicious hand special action (25%), which steals some of the target's gold. They have the cDropGold bit flag which makes them drop all their gold upon death.
- Prerequisite: Rogue, thief[HotFL:186] Masterful Cunning (11th level): Once during your first turn in an encounter, you can shift up to 3 squares as a free action. Masterful Action (11th level): When you spend an action point to use an attack power, you can deal your Sneak Attack damage to a target of the power regardless of whether you hit it or whether you have dealt Sneak Attack damage to it this turn, but you must have combat advantage against the target. Improved Backstab (11th level): You gain one more use of backstab per encounter, but you can still use it only once per turn.
- Master thief is a type of monster in ADOM. They are rare opponents whose attacks penetrate armor, though in a melee battle they will often spend their turns trying to steal the PC's gold. They are very evasive, and the PC should be careful not to underestimate them in a fight. All gold stolen by a monster is carried by that monster and can be reclaimed by killing it, except (as of 1.2.0) when it disappears, as indicated by the message "The (monster) chuckles with hateful glee as the god of thieves immediately takes his share!"
- The Old World is a crime-ridden place, and most will have their pocket-picked, house robbed or become scammed at some point. Making a dishonest living from these victims is an underworld of criminals, some organised, others not. However, a few skilled members of the shadowy trades grow beyond humble beginnings to become true craftsmen at their art. It is these Master Thieves who pull off the daring exploits that become legendary. Must have completed at least one advanced Rogue career, and two Thief careers (Gambler, Outlaw and/or Smuggler may substitute Thief career(s))
