Holding the rank of Captain, her served as commanding officer of the destroyer GNS Ephraim. He was extremely lazy, causing a malaise to affect his crew and ship. Under his command the Ephraim suffered frequent equipment failure, to the point of having an additional engineering officer assigned, and extended vists to the yard. He did not like the presence of female officer candidate Midshipwoman Claire Bedlam Lecroix on his ship; he refused to give her a berth aboard, citing a refit, and had the vast majority of her qualifications left uncompleted. With the year-and-a-half-long refit completed, and the Office of Personnel asking questions, rather than file the much more complicated paperwork to separate her from the Navy, he had her promoted to Ensign, intending to transfer her to Blackbird Yard. However, due to leaving the paperwork to his XO, she was instead transferred to Phineas Greentree's ship, the Manasseh. The Ephraim and every member of her crew were later annihilated while once again undergoing repair when the Blackbird Yard and the ships in it were destroyed by the Mesan Alignment Navy's Operation Oyster Bay.
