  • Mitch Cromwood (Hurbanova, 1937 - Hurbanova, 2006) was a British-Lovian economist and politician. He served as the 32nd and 33rd Governor of Oceana, winning two consecutive elections. Mitch was born to British family, in London. His family moved to Hurbanova when he was 3 years old. Both his parents were faithful Anglicans and Mitch grew as one. He studied economics at Nobel University, but he soon dealt with politics. He also studied foreign languages, eventually speaking Slovak, Spanish and French fluently. Mitch was a conservative politician and became a prominent member of the Christian Party of Oceana. At the 1968 State Elections he achieved the first place with 61%. He ran a short-term economic program, with great success. In 1970 he won again and he continued his successful project. Later, he decided not to put candidancy, due to health problems. Cromwood lived the rest of his life with his wife, Katarina Kojdova, and their only son, Paul. He died in 2006, from natural causes. An avenue in Overbanken is named after him, in his honour.
