USS Alloway (1918) was a cargo ship acquired by the U.S. Navy for transporting war materials on the Atlantic Ocean during World War I. Shintaka—a screw steamer built in 1918 at Oakland, California, by Moore & Scott—was acquired by the Navy on 11 July 1918; renamed Alloway (Id. No. 3139); and commissioned at San Francisco, California, on 12 July 1918, Lt. Comdr. F. C. Dellegar, USNRF, in command.
