Lieutenant Tafas was a Barrayaran soldier on Aral Vorkosigan's ship, the General Vorkraft. He had friends both among Radnov's group of mutineers and among the officers loyal to Aral Vorkosigan, such as Ensign Koudelka. When Radnov took over the ship, Tafas felt compelled to take part in the mutiny. However, when Cordelia Naismith snuck into the engineering section to break it up, he joined her and stunned the others. He was most likely killed when the General Vorkraft was destroyed at Escobar.
