| - An NPC created by Rhiannon. This character is available for "adoption" by another player. A tall, skinny, stooped man with long-fingered hands. He wears a shabby tweed suit in his library's color--green, for the East Library--and the cuffs of his shirts are perpetually stained with ink. His white hair recedes from his forehead, but is rather long, because Mr. Lucien rarely thinks or bothers to cut it--it fluffs up over the back of his head, often making odd points over each of his ears after he's been thinking and running his fingers through it.

His white hair recedes from his forehead, but is rather long, because Mr. Lucien rarely thinks or bothers to cut it--it fluffs up over the back of his head, often making odd points over each of his ears after he's been thinking and running his fingers through it. No one remembers where Mr. Lucien came from before he was a librarian, and he never mentions his history or family--or if he does, it's impossible to tell if he's really talking about himself, or mixing himself up with characters in a book. In fact, Mr. Lucien gives the distinct impression of insanity, muttering to himself, forgetting things (like his own name), and saying nonsensical things--on the other hand, he is perfectly sane when it comes to the condition and running of his library, and his books are kept in immaculate order and his staff, despite occasionally being fired because he doesn't recognize them, manage the library smoothly. Mr. Lucien apparently has the improbable ability to remember who has each and every checked-out book. He resides inside the East Library on the Upper Fourth.
