This began on Fanfiction.net, with a story called Vargas, where Johnny releases Edgar in favor of someone else. Johnny and Edgar become friends, even though Johnny still wishes to kill Edgar. Towards the end of the story they begin liking each other, around that time Edgar is slowly going insane as a result of becoming a waste lock.
