| - Svetlana Gredenko was a female Human/Rigelian hybrid Starfleet officer serving in the late 24th century. By 2381, she served as an operations officer aboard the USS Aventine. During the Borg Invasion of 2381, the Aventine scouted several subspace tunnels emanating from the Azure Nebula. After traversing one of those tunnels, the Aventine ended up in a portion of the Delta Quadrant, where they discovered a vast debris field of nearly identical material; Gredenko scanned the debris and confirmed it as Borg. (ST - Destiny novel: Mere Mortals) After the USS Titan joined the Aventine and USS Enterprise-E, former Earth Starfleet Captain Erika Hernandez and Aventine Captain Ezri Dax formulated a plan to locate, attack, board, and capture a Borg scout in order to secure its vinculum. Svetlana continued to fill in on the Bridge for the injured Lieutenant Oliana Mirren, confirming the solid lock on the scout craft. When they engaged the enemy ship, after the shields were down, Gredenko relayed the order to deploy strike teams down to the twenty transporter sites throughout the ship, including four upgraded cargo transporters and six emergency evacuation transporters. After the strike teams completed their infiltration, they vented plasma in a Fibonacci pattern; Grendenko detected the initial burst and the later sequence. The Aventine was successful in hooking Captain Hernandez to the vinculum, allowing her to temporarily take over the Borg Collective and halting their invasion forces. Gredenko received word from Starfleet Command, confirming the reports from the fleet. However, the cessation was fleeting, and the scout craft attacked the Aventine; Svetlana delivered a damage report to Sam Bowers stating that their weapons grid overloaded, shields were offline, and a direct hit to the main deflector caused the loss of their ability to generate a dampening field, as well as a complete system failure for the long range subspace communications systems.
