| - Royal Messenger is a Redguard residing in the city of Sentinel.
- The Royal Messenger of the Paradise of Birds is named Ephel. Among his other duties, he serves as a guide for the rare visitors who are allowed to enter the Paradise. Ephel is slightly smaller than a common pigeon. His plumage is orange and white, and the feathers of his crest and wings are tipped with a bright blue. He is less formal and dignified than are some other denizens of the Paradise; his manner is bright, merry, even roguish. (Policeman Bluejay)
- The royal messenger delivered a message to Joo Dee regarding the status of Team Avatar's request for an audience with the Earth King. He later delivered a message to Iroh at the Jasmine Dragon and transported Zuko and his uncle to the Royal Palace on a cart the next day.
