(ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years) Aboard the Enterprise (NX-01) in 2155, Lieutenant Malcolm Reed told Commander Trip Tucker to talk to him about the feared Romulan threat when Admiral Gardner refused to listen. (ENT novel: The Good That Men Do) In September 2159, the Vulcans gave Douglas intelligence on who they suspected the Romulans to actually be and the suspected location of their homeworld. (ST reference: Federation: The First 150 Years) In a holographic program depicting Enterprise's final mission and the foundation of the United Federation of Planets in 2161, Douglas contacted Enterprise and requested Captain Jonathan Archer's approval of protocols for the decommissioning of his ship. Archer refused to deal with the issue until the signing of the Federation Charter. (ENT episode: "These Are the Voyages...") In 2166, Douglas gave the commencement speech to Starfleet Academy's first graduating class. Among the graduates was James Ogaleesha Davis, maternal grandfather of James T. Kirk.
