Rhodism is a tradition within Christianity tied to the Church of Rhodesia and churches which are tied to it or hold similar beliefs, worship practices, and church structures. The word Rhodan derives from ecclesia rhodana, a Latin phrase dating to 1661 which means Rhodesian Church. Adherents of Rhodism are known as Rhodans. The great majority of Rhodans are members of churches which are tied to the Rhodan Communion. There is a small number of churches outside of the Rhodan Communion which consider themselves to be Rhodan, which are known as Anglican-Rhodan unionists churches that wish to reconcile the political split between the Church of England and the Church of Rhodesia which founded the Rhodan Communion in 1661.
