Serbelodon is an extinct genus of African and European Proboscidean. It was a gomphothere "shovel-tusker." It had tusks and a trunk. It lived during the Miocene Epoch, and may have evolved from Amebelodon. In 1933, Serbelodon burnhami (now Amebelodon burnhami) was newly discovered and named after the celebrated scout Frederick Russell Burnham.
