The RGA220Z features an arched-top mahogany body bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez LoZ active humbucking pickups with Active EQ, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The RGA220Z was among the first RGA models offered with a tremolo along with the RGA420Z (which is similar to the RG220Z but adds a flamed maple top) and the seven-string RGA427Z. The RGA220Z was discontinued after 2011.
