abstract
  • Raymond Albright was the Governor-General of New Englia and was s a representative in the National Assembly. Albright represented Ocean Province in the National Assembly for 38 years making him one of the longest serving members in history and was selected as the Speaker of the Assembly in 2924. His first term in office has mainly focused on getting some form of immigration reform passed in this country. Albright has proposed an electric fence along the entire western border. This was met with wide skepticism and anger from many politicians who see it as a way to make the country isolationist. Albright would go on to retract his idea and has gone on to support a bipartisan bill by the Colonial & New Dawn Parties. In addition to immigration reform, Albright cut taxes for the middle class a move seen by political analysts to gain support from the Freedom Party who had called for tax cuts during the 2933 Election. A year after Albright began his second term, Vice-General Jennifer Whitman resigned amid a pending investigation involving her husband. Albright replaced her with former ambassador Edward Redding, but even he had problems when it was found out that he'd been suffering from lung cancer since 2931. Because of the cancer, Redding decided to not run for reelection in the 2939 elections with Albright. Albright would go on to lose the 2939 election and retired from politics to his cabin in the Rift Mountains. Albright died on February 2, 2963 from heart failure at age 96. Albright is buried at Lucas National Cemetery.
