- Ebon was a tree that produced black wood. Legend had it that seven massive monoliths carved from polished ebon surrounded the Parade Grounds of the Duinarbulon Star Lancers, the elite soldiers of Xim the Despot. All traces of the monoliths had vanished by the time of the Galactic Civil War.
- A weapon with a "Ebon" name prefix is equipped with a weapon upgrade of the same name:

- Ebon, real name Ivan Evans, was a juvenile delinquent and gang banger from Dakota. He was affected by the Quantum Vapor, gaining a silhouette appearance and shadow-based powers. Ebon was arguably Static's arch-enemy in his years as a young superhero. Desiring control, Ebon continually tried to recruit bang babies to join his Metahuman gang, the Meta-Breed.
- When the Malazan mage Devaleth sent Ebon's ruler a magical vision warning of a catastrophe from the sea, he summoned the twenty witches and warlocks tasked to protect him from sorcery and had them executed.
- Ebon is the planet where a group of space troopers were psychologically tortured by an alien species in the "Nightmare" episode of the Outer Limits, Dec. 2, 1963.
- Ebon (no real name known) is a student at Whateley. She seems to be a manifestor. “She makes some sort of darkstuff – does a lot of different things with it.”
