Townsend was a terran marine who served in Omega Squadron. Sometime after the Brood War, Townsend was part of a Dominion Marine Corps force dispatched to Artika, doing battle against the zerg. As part of the first wave, Townsend and the rest of Charlie Squad secured the landing zone, defeating the zerg sent against them and moving on to the secondary objective. However, they were set upon by a group of Dark Templar and although a scanner sweep from a ComSat station revealed them, Townsend was killed in the process.
