Captain H. Ash is a Sanity human who somehow managed to find his way onto the shores of the USA. He speaks in an accent similar to that of the Green Faction of Puffolians, and consantly calls people either "Old chap" or "Old bean", the former being used more often. He says he came here from a radio contact from two of his collegues, who came to the island a while ago. Who these collegues are we'll probably never know.

- Captain Ash was a male shrew and the skipper of the Periwinkle. The Periwinkle carried Joseph the Bellmaker and his daughter Mariel to Salamandastron with the mission of delivering a specially commissioned bell to Rawnblade Widestripe, current Badger Lord of the mountain. However, the ship was attacked by Gabool's corsairs, and Captain Ash was taken captive. After this he was never heard of again, and was presumably slain by the searats. Not to be confused with Brother Ash.
- Captain Ash is a recurring character, having appeared in all games in the TimeSplitters Series thus far, and having a role in each game's Story. Captain Ash, in each of his appearances, has worn boots with a brown jacket and blue trousers. His hair is of a blonde colour and he sports a moustache, featuring in every game to date.

Little is truly known about Captain Ash's background, though it is suspected that he served in the infantry during the Boer War towards the end of the 19th Century as a teenager, before becoming an officer of the Royal Flying Corps (judging by his clothes) in World War I. It is important to dispel the confusion regarding Ash's title as Captain as one being under the Royal Flying Corps, where the title of Captain does not exist. However, it is very possible that he had become Group Captain. After the war, he retired from the military to set out on adventures of his own, traveling the world. It is then most possible that he assigned himself the title Captain for simplicity's sake.
