The Noblesse class was a class of destroyers used by the Royal Manticoran Navy primarily in the 19th Century PD. Basically a scaled-down version of the Courageous-class light cruiser, They were the oldest destroyers still in service when the First Havenite-Manticoran War began. They were originally scheduled for decommissioning by the turn of the century, but the Navy's increased need for light combat units forced many of them to remain in service until 1907 PD. (Companion) * Number Built: 60 * Service life: 1819-1907 After their eventual retirement, seven of a total of sixty units built were given to the Grayson Space Navy as part of the military assistance agreed upon in the treaty of alliance. They were redesignated as the Jacob-class. (GNLH)
