- TIE bombers were, you guessed it, things that bombed stuff. They were like Darth Vader's fighter, but twice as big. TIE bombers had the shit beaten out of them by X-wings. - The TIE Bomber is the bomber-class ship for the Galactic Empire. It is heavily armoured, yet less so than a transport. This ship can hold two passengers so a second player operates the guided rockets, or fire proton torpedoes. It has high damage, perfect for taking out the various critical points on the enemy's capital ships. This is handy for getting points quickly, but these ships are basically useless for destroying other starships. These guys will definitely be in demand, and are one of the more useful ships in the game. Other equivalents of the TIE Bomber for the other three playable factions include: the V-Wing, CIS Strike Bomber, and Y-Wing.

For its increased power requirements, the bomber boasts elongated panels with greater surface areas than the standard star fighter. It has twin cylindrical hulls between its panels. While good against heavier targets, the TIE Bomber is a slow and sluggish craft unsuited for dogfighting. It requires fighter escort to have a chance of survival when faced with enemy starfighters.

TIE Bombere hadde de samme solcellevingene som andre TIE modeller, men hadde to cockpitballer, en for piloten og en for armeringen.
