| - Louis XVI was born 23 August 1754 and died 21 January 1793, he was born with the name of Louis-Auguste and is also known as Louis Capet. He was the king of France from 1774 until 1792 from deposition. He was guillotined on 21 January 1793 leading to his death and his father, Louis, Dauphin of France was the son and heir of Louis XV of France, his father ended up dying in 1765 and Louis succeeded his grandfather in 1774 as France's new king.

Suspended and arrested during French Revolution, he was tried by the National Convention, found guilty of treason (sending sensitive information to Austria, France's enemy at the time), and executed by guillotine on 21 January 1793. He is the only French monarch to have been executed.
