Travels in the Scriptorium is a novel by American author Paul Auster. Mr. Blank, an elderly man, awakens to have no recollection as to how he'd gotten there. He has no idea who he is or where he is and he examines what little objects and information he has in order to piece his past together. Simultaneously, an overhead camera appears to be documenting the events in Mr. Blank's room. In this novel, Auster investigates the concepts of self-identity and memory.
