A Palmheel Block (also known as batangson magki) is a block in which the palm of the hand is used to block. The Chamber: The blocking hand is brought to the side of the body -- palm facing downward and inward at an angle -- at about shoulder height. The hand is held similar to a knifehand. When doing forms, the off-hand fist is aimed straight forward. The Block: The blocking hand is brought slightly downward and inward, to end at the solar plexus. The wrist is slightly bent backwards. The hand is held mostly vertical, so that the palm is basically facing sideways.

Helpful tip: make "praying hands" directly in front of your body at about solar plexus height, and then pushing the praying-hands forward as far as they can go while still being pressed against each other. Now take away one hand...that's about where your hand should be when you finish a palmheel block. The off-hand fist is simultaneously brought back to the waist.
