Ankaria Multini was the head of the Jedi Council during almost all of the 191st Century BBY. She lived for nearly three centuries, and during the first two of them traveled all over the galaxy, and trained nine padawan learners. She first came to the Order at the age of four, in 19,295 BBY. Her Human father gave her up after the suicide of her Rindaoan mother. He disappeared shortly afterward. The cause of both the suicide and the disappearance has never been adequately determined. Ankaria herself always refused to speak on the subject.

  • Ankaria Multini was the head of the Jedi Council during almost all of the 191st Century BBY. Her 96-year reign as head of the Order was one of the longest of the Great Manifest Period of galactic history, when one of the biggest issues was how much assistance should be lent to the corporate powers which were colonizing the Expansion Region, or even if the Jedi should attempt to forcefully disband those companies that they believed were violating sentient rights. Her predecessor Rigorm Drostt had done nothing to change the hostile policies of Tens'rush'erk'owt'iop which had left the Jedi Order in strong disfavor with the government. With the aid of other Council members, Master Multini crafted a new policy which offered all corporations with official legal support non-judgmental support within reasonable limits. This dismayed some, and she herself did not entirely like it, but she saw this policy as necessary to preserve the Order and keep it in the good graces of the democratic galactic government. However, she did publicly denounce and refuse all support to corporations that stepped over the line, and in extension refused all interference in more than one planet. It is estimated that three dozen companies eventually went bankrupt due to her actions, though despite the first of them folding within her lifetime, she never seemed to quite realize, or at least clearly did not care about, the amount of power she held. This trait has combined with her general wisdom, fairness, and selflessness to make her remembered as one of the best Grand Masters of the Old Republic.
