| - The Xiandu Municipal Cinema is a cinema in Xiandu, Clymene. Built by Chinese immigrants to cater to English-speaking residents, it is noted for its sumptuous decoration and its outsized main auditorium, which is the largest cinema theatre in the state. Outside of showing movies, it has hosted concerts and political rallies. It is an atmospheric theatre, a type of movie palace that was popular in the 1920s in America. Built in 1932, it's main auditorium is designed to resemble a night in a Moorish garden. Twinkling stars and drifting clouds travel across the domed ceiling. Nestled between small shops and a farm, the lobby extends over a former coal mine. The theater has a small multicolored false front dominated by a large marquee. The interior of the entrance and lobby is designed to resemble a Moorish castle with Mediterranean decor, complete with medieval style carvings, authentic European antiques and Italian alabaster sculptures.
