Walter Godbold (1854-29 February 1940) was a printer and local politician in the West Ham area. The son of John Godbold, a Suffolk-born carpenter, he was born in Blackwall. Walter established a printing company and after living in a number of locations in south London he settled in the Plaistow area of West Ham. He became a member of West Ham Borough Council and was Mayor of West Ham in 1922-23. Godbold Road, E15, was named after him.
