Dahmer is the founder and chief executive officer of Dahmer's, a highly successful restaurant franchise, specializing in Kansas City-style barbecue spare ribs. During the early 80s, Dahmer spent one tour of duty as a cook in the United States Army, during that time Dahmer came up with the idea for a secret barbecue sauce that proved to be a hit among his fellow soldiers. After his tour was up he contemplated selling the secret recipe, but instead, in 1991, he opened up a small restaurant. 17 years later Dahmer's is one of the largest casual dining franchises in North America with over 1000 restaurants throughout the U.S., Canada, and C.S.A.
