| - Intangibility (Phasing) is the ability to pass through solid objects by shifting one's density to one similar to a gas. One with this ability does not actually take on a gaseous form, but instead emits a psychic field that causes his molecules to separate, allowing movement seemingly through solid objects. Another theory about this ability is that the person can cause atoms to speed to a point where they are no longer a solid and are capable of moving through other objects. This ability can be achieved through another known as Imperceptibility.
- A character with this ability could make himself or herself intangible at will. No one would then notice if he or she touched them, or if they walked into him or her. However, unlike phasing, it will not enable someone to pass through solid objects.
- Intangibility was the ability, or more permanently state, to have one's own body pass through solid matter without touching it.
- The ability could also be associated with ones' ability to transform into gaseous matter, such as steam. Characters with this ability are not completely unstoppable, but many times harder to defeat, for example, if someone were to try and shoot a bullet from a revolver at such a character, the bullet would simply pass through them without harming them, however, in some cases, a character in a gaseous state could still be affected by other gases. Superman for example, could use his super breath and blow them into a sealed bottle, making it impossible to escape.

Their intangibility may be constantly active or it may be something that they have to activate.

- User is able to move through objects and ignore most physical effects in their way, exact means how this is done vary between slipping partially into other dimensions, being able to make their own particles move between other particles, being non-physical being of energy, vibrating their molecules into a new quantum frequency, etc. Regardless the user is able to ignore most attacks, physical dangers and gravity.
- To put it simply, it is the ability to "go through walls". Intangibility is often done by passing their atoms between the spaces of other particles in the surface they are "going through".
