- Gelatinous cubes are nearly transparent that make their home in dungeons across the world. Gelatinous cubes absorb everything in their path, both organic and inorganic. Gelatinous cubes have been found as far as Xen'drik.
- Although officially of the "neutral" alignment, the Gelatinous Cube is dangerous to organic life forms due to its ability to absorb with frightening effectiveness most types of organic life. Gelatinous Cubes are 10 feet in size and frequently slither across dungeon corridors, absorbing anything that gets in their path. In the earlier versions of the game they were especially dangerous as most early dungeons were around 10 ft by 10 ft.
- A gelatinous cube is a fictional monster from the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy role-playing game. It is a ten-foot cube of transparent gelatinous ooze, which is able to absorb organic matter.
- Race: ooze Alignment: true neutral Armor class: 6 Hit points: 58 Attack bonus: +3 Damage: d6+4 bludgeoning damage + d6 acid damage (creature weapon) Hit dice (level): 4 Challenge rating: 3 Size: medium Trained skills:(‡) none Feats: weapon proficiency (creature)
- The gelatinous cube is usually a large ooze that appears to be transparent and cube-shaped. The cubes have no visible organs or appendages. Cubes tend to hide and wait for prey to stumble into their embrace.. The cubes were first created through a sorcerer's experiments.
- Gelatinous cubes can be seen frolicking in meadows and by streams. Consisting entirely of poisonous goo, they have few natural enemies and so have little need for camouflage or concealment. Spot check with DC 15 is required to see one.
- The gelatinous cube, b, is an amoeboid monster in NetHack. Unlike the Dungeons & Dragons creature from which it is derived, it has no means to engulf the player; however it still possesses the means to paralyze the unwary. The gelatinous cube possesses two different kinds of attacks that may paralyze the player. The paralyzing touch is a melee attack that can be protected against with high magic cancellation. It also has a paralyzing passive attack which can be prevented by wearing a ring of free action or not engaging in melee combat. Their corpses are acidic, but may also provide fire/cold/shock/sleep resistance.
- Gelatinous cubes are monsters in ADOM. They are notable for being able to paralyze the PC if (s)he attacks them in melee range; which can often leave them open to attacks from more powerful creatures. Facing these in a lesser vault along with green slimes, and getting diseased from a slime whilst paralyzed, is certainly bad luck.

Corpse
| - Eating a gelatinous cube corpse paralyzes the PC and has approximately a 1/3 chance to grant paralyzation resistance. When paralyzation resistance is actually granted, you are paralyzed for a longer amount of time, and the message: "Your limbs are tingling in a strange fashion despite being paralyzed..." may be shown.
Note that gelatinous cubes very rarely leave their corpses.

| - The first thing you'll note when a gelatinous cube is nearby is the total lack of any plant life or organic debris in the area. Gelatinous cubes are almost translucent with, sometimes, a slight green coloring. If you are lucky the cube will have some pieces of its last meal inside, so you'll be able to see it. So take a close look at those floating skulls!
