Fred the Troll is a Cave Troll who was domesticated by the brigands of Spielburg Valley. He guarded the secret back entrance to the Brigand Fortress, but would go into hiding if one said the words "Hiden Goseke" before entering the hidden passage. He was much tougher than the average troll. In the EGA version of Quest for Glory I: So You Want to be a Hero?, he had a hidden stash of gold in the cavern, however it was impossible to discover without engaging the troll in battle.
