In 2987, Franco-Oppenheimer was elected to the Athosian Parliament. In 2989, she was elected Chairman of the Athosian SDP. In 2992, she won 24% in her gubernatorial bid. Four years later she won 20%. In 3000, she won 17%. In 2996, she was named Deputy Leader of the SDP by Julian Creighton. However, four years later, Creighton was assassinated and Franco-Oppenheimer became General Secretary. Following his death, she announced that she would be serving as leader on an interim basis. She ultimately stepped down in 3003, in favor of Creighton's widow, Anna Creighton.
