She was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas as the daughter of Lawrence and Anna Dale Hodgkins. Estella came to Wallace, Idaho in 1907 and married Johnathan Dare Foster, the couple had no children.

She was born in Baxter Springs, Kansas as the daughter of Lawrence and Anna Dale Hodgkins. Estella came to Wallace, Idaho in 1907 and married Johnathan Dare Foster, the couple had no children. She was active in several organizations in the area and was seen as a "proper lady", since she always wore white gloves, a hat, dress and high heels. She was widowed in 1939 and lived independently until breaking her hip at the age of 108. Estella Foster died in Wallace, Idaho on 5 March 1986, aged 111 years, 131 days.
