I Never Know What Gifts To Buy, Do You? is sung by Geppetto in Pinocchio's Christmas after he sends Pinocchio to school. He speaks to himself in a mirror to debate what gifts to buy for those he cares about, and imagines his reflection is disregarding his ideas. After the song, he admits he is too poor to afford a better meal then oatmeal, let alone buy presents for Pinocchio, and realizes he has to sell something in favor of his "son's" first Christmas.
