  • Mysterious, aloof, powerful, the Higher Order is an organization and/or a race that appeared quite suddenly and brought an end to the Border Wars. Now they have taken it upon themselves to enforce the peace treaties that they put into effect. Very little information is available concerning the Higher Order. All that is known have extremely advanced technology, a seemingly limitless army, and their willingness to deploy their weaponry on anyone who does not play along. Their motivations have always been a topic of great debate. They seem interested in keeping peace, and making sure that all the borders remain intact, yet at the same time, they do not actually patrol the borders. They only seem interested in averting galaxy spanning war. The Higher Order does not engage in any sort of small talk or unnecessary communications with anyone, and, in fact, have only been seen off of their ships a handful of times. Descriptions of them vary, but most people who claim to have seen them describe them as tall humanoid looking creatures with four arms clad entirely in armor. While the Higher Order has provided the galaxy with several pieces of useful technology, such as the Jump Gate, most people do not believe their intentions are entirely honorable or altruistic. Despite their claims of being apolitical and strictly uninvolved in galactic matters, there are reports of them accepting bribes and making deals, usually in exchange for archeological artifacts and the other such ancient knowledge.
