Vel Orset was a Kel Dor Jedi Knight, friend of the fellow Kel Dor Jedi Master Plo Koon. Orset fought in the Clone Wars, a galaxy-spanning war between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists, the dissenting faction, on many planets. He was eventually killed when his own clone troopers of the 98th Division turned on him, following the execution of Order 66, a plot to kill the Jedi.

  • Vel Orset was a Kel Dor Jedi Knight, friend of the fellow Kel Dor Jedi Master Plo Koon. Orset fought in the Clone Wars, a galaxy-spanning war between the Galactic Republic and the Separatists, the dissenting faction, on many planets. He was eventually killed when his own clone troopers of the 98th Division turned on him, following the execution of Order 66, a plot to kill the Jedi. Orset was born and raised until the age of three on the Kel Dor homeworld of Dorin, and found by Ithorian Jedi Master Roron Corobb. Orset never was given a master, not even Corobb, and Orset was given the responsibility of working in the AgriCorps, a place for younglings to work if they were not accepted by Jedi Masters as their padawans. However, after about fifteen years of working in the AgriCorps, the Clone Wars broke out, and the Jedi Council held a test for all of the AgriCorps members so some of them could be accepted into the Order to help fight. Orset passed and fought in the Clone Wars. Orset at first accompanied small Republic forces to minor battles such as the Skirmish over Sriluur and the Battle of Gamorr. Orset distinguished himself in the Sriluur battle, using a quickly thought strategy to overcome the Separatists. The Gamorr battle was lost, however, diminishing his record. After capturing Lowick in a six-month battle, Orset was given control of the 98th Division with CC-1243, also known as Commander Mark, a clone trooper commander, the soldiers of the Republic's army. During the sieges in the Outer Rim territories, Orset helped protect the purple-hued planet of Wol Cabassh from Separatist warships, but was killed in action by Mark, inside an AT-TE, after Order 66.
