  • The CoMar SLD-26 Shield Tower is the unit the Empire used to protect the second Death Star at Endor. The unit is 120 meters tall and 40 meters wide at the base. The primary projection dish is 60 meters in diameter, with eight secondary 10-meter projecting dishes around the rim. It has massive power generators in order to sustain its powerful shield. The unit is capable of projecting a spherical shield into space with a diameter of up to 200 kilometers, or a hemispherical shield over an area of land 400 km in diameter. The tower has no built-in weaponry or shielding, relying on planetary forces to keep it safe from attack. Shutter shield units are not "solid walls" like encasing shields, but are variable output, variable area capable. They can be overlapped to reinforce protection, and can randomly open various sections of the shield to allow ground-based weaponry to fire, to release starfighters strikes, capital ship sorties, or even blockade runners.
