Cyclone Laurel of 2023 was a very destructive and deadly cyclone, which tore through Reunion and Madagascar as a category 1 cyclone on the Saffir-Simpson hurricane scale. From the time of entering Reunion's territory, until it dissipated over Zambia, the cyclone and its remnants were responsible for 52 deaths, and leaving 105 others injured, who are now presumed dead after many months of searching for the missing persons.
