Yoriko Sonohara is the first ghost to be encountered in Fatal Frame IV: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, fought by Madoka Tsukimori in the Kunihiko Asou Museum. Yoriko's mother died giving birth to her, and her father and brother died in an accident, which Yoriko claims was to protect her. In Yoriko's death note, she states that what kept her alive was the memories of them, and the guilt she felt, but "the illness was robbing her of even that." After her condition worsened, Yoriko committed suicide by hanging in her own room. The noose she used to hang herself (and her hidden ghost) can still be found in that room.
