| Synopsis
| - The Doom Patrol return to their base to once more find it invaded by Beast Boy, who plays a game of catch-me-if-you-can with the Doom Patrol, Robotman in particular. After everything is broken up by Elasti-Girl, Beast Boy asks to join the Doom Patrol once more, telling them that his adoptive father is a miserly old man who treats him poorly. Although the lad is telling the truth, the Doom Patrol refuse to believe him unless he has proof and denies the boy membership in the group. Beast Boy angrily storms out of Doom Patrol headquarters and heads back to his normal life.
He walks in on his guardian, Nicholas Galtry, making a deal with a scientist to allow the man to examine Beast Boy for $10,000. Galtry tells Beast Boy to meet Dr. Weir at his lab. When he arrives there, he is subjected to a giant spinning hypnotic disc and awakens some time later, realizing a large amount of time had passed and he has no recollection of the time that passed. Later in the day, dinosaurs suddenly appear in various parts of the city and begin trashing the place. When Beast Boy calls to warn the Doom Patrol that he knows what happened, the Chief believes it's a crank call at first until the line is abruptly terminated.
The Chief sends Robotman and Elasti-Girl to keep the dinosaurs at bay while he has Larry send out his Negative Man form to collect Beast Boy from his house and learn what's going on. Destroying all the dinosaurs, Rita and Cliff return to base where they hear about Beast Boy's involvement in everything. Beast Boy explains that he is the son of a great biologist who had mastered a serum that would allow him to reverse the evolutionary process. When their boy fell ill with the disease known as Sakutia, his father injected his son with the solution, knowing that some apes have a natural immunity and that reversing their boys evolutionary process to that stage would potentially cure him of the virus. With the experiment a success, they change their boy back to normal.As a side effect, the boy's skin and hair turned green.
One day when his mother was being attacked by a snake, the boy suddenly changes into a mongoose to fight off the creature and they learn that the boy had adopted the ability to change into any animal he desires. They make the boy promise not to reveal his powers to anyone. The next rain season caused massive flooding in the region of Africa they lived in, and as they are escaping by boat their ship approaches a cliff, Beast Boy's parents convinced to the boy to change into a bird and fly away to save himself, and they plummeted to their seeming death. Beast Boy finishes his story by telling them that his father's research was locked in a safe, the only key to which he wore around his neck.
Realizing that Dr. Weir had probably discovered the secret by hypnotizing Beast Boy, the Doom Patrol go out to stop Weir's next attack on the city where he boldly rides a dinosaur proclaiming his supremacy over humanity. With the aid of Beast Boy the Doom Patrol try to stop Dr. Weir from causing more trouble. Weir has the Doom Patrol at a disadvantage thanks to the specially made goggles that allow him to devolve animals. However, the Doom Patrol and Beast Boy manage to defeat his army of dinosaurs and capture Dr. Weir, taking his goggles away from him.
Returning to the Doom Patrol base, the Chief regrets to inform Beast Boy that he cannot get custody of him because he is in the legal care of his guardian. Beast Boy vows to one day prove that his guardian is treating him poorly and storms out.
- Cliff Steele was a reckless race car driver, who one day gets into a serious crash. Taken to a hospital the doctors determine his body was beyond medical help, but his brain was still alive. They seek out the aid of Dr. Niles Caulder, who has developed a means to implant a human brain into a robot body, and thus Robotman was born!
However, this would not be such a joyous occasion when Cliff awakens from his coma and finds himself trapped in a metal body and he goes on a rampage through the hospital. The Robotman vows to kill the man who has done this to him, and Caulder manages to knock Robotman out with a gas grenade. They then have Cliff locked up in a cell until he can accept his condition and learn to live a like a normal man again. Robotman feigns being able to accept his condition in order to lull the doctors into setting him loose and he breaks free of the hospital.
Going on a rampage through the city, Robotman is able to fend off any attacks against him. When the mayor is about to give the call to destroy Robotman no matter the cost, Caulder manages to stop him and convince him to try to appeal to Cliff to make him stop. Tracking Cliff down to a baseball stadium, the Chief is about to confront him when the Robotman destroys most of the stadium, prompting armed police men to approach them with weapons drawn.
