Becoming an honors student at the public academy, he was offered scholarship at the Imperial Naval Academy.

Becoming an honors student at the public academy, he was offered scholarship at the Imperial Naval Academy. --The Academy-- The entry age for an Academy Midshipmen was 18, the generically accepted adult age for humans. Disra's arrival, along with others in his class, was greeted with hazing from the upper classes for about a week before they were finally accepted into the fold. He made friends, close friends, and developed rivalries as well. The first two years was studying and being lead by the upper classmen. At the end of his third year in the Academy, he was accepted to tour onboard a Imperial Naval ship for the duration of the academy's "break". Once he returned, he was officially an upper classmen. He was the leading student in the fields of History and Physics which foreshadowed him graduating at the top of his class, which promised him a commission as a Jr Grade Lieutenant instead of the slightly lower rank of Ensign.
