ADV Films hizo el doblaje al Inglés y lanzó dos episodios editados juntos como una película directo a vídeo en Norteamérica el 7 de Septiembre de 1999 como Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie.

- Sonic the Hedgehog (ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ Sonikku za Hejjihoggu?) is a two-episode anime OVA based on the video game series with the same name. Produced by Studio Pierrot and General Entertainment Co., Ltd., the anime was originally released in Japan between January 26 and February 4, 1996, with its two thirty-minute episodes over two separate VHS tapes. These two episodes were titled "Journey to Eggmanland" (エッグマンランドへむかえ Eggumanrando e Mukae?) and "Sonic vs. Metal Sonic!!" (ソニックVSメタル・ソニック!! Sonikku tai Metaru Sonikku?). Both episodes were directed by Kazunori Ikegami and written by Masashi Kubota, and featured the ending theme "Look-a-like." The music score was composed by Mitsuhiro Tada, who also did the arrangement for "Look-a-like".
