The Underbarrel Smoke Launcher is a weapon attachment in PlanetSide 2. The grenade produces a wide, thin smokescreen upon impact that is capable of providing visual cover for a short period of time. To buy the smoke launcher, you must have the standard faction carbine with the S in its name: Gauss Compact S for the NC, TRAC-5 S for the TR, Solstice SF for the VS or the standard faction assault rifle with the S in its name: Gauss Rifle S for the NC, T1S Cycler for the TR, Equinox VE2 for the VS (note the Equinox does not have an S) or Battle Rifles. It is found in the rail slot. Like all attachments, it can be purchased using Daybreak Cash or Certification Points. To activate an underbarrel weapon attachment, press the Gear Slot 1 hotkey (1 by default) while already holding the weapon. Only primary weapons can equip underbarrel attachments.
