In 1951 the Okanagan Mainline League split into two leagues - the Okanagan Senior League and the Pacific Coast Senior League. This league carried on for only one season - 1951-52. The costs of travel for Nanaimo (which is on Vancouver Island) were far too high. Also the Vancouver team did not draw well. It had to compete against the Vancouver Canucks and the New Westminster Royals of the Pacific Coast Hockey League.
