In Danish folklore, Sköfung was the sword of King Hrolf Kraki and was said to be the best of all swords in all the northern lands. He used it to fight King Adils of Sweden, a reputed sorcerer of black magic and later Queen Skuld, an Elf-Human hybrid who was the illegitimate daughter of King Hregi, who also uses magic, but uses her magic to raise corpses to fight against Hrolf and his warriors as well as monstrous boars. Skuld's army succeeds in killing Hrolf. Skuld was later killed by friends of Hrolf. His adventures with this sword were depicted in Hrólf Kraki's Saga.
